Here in New York, they are getting harassed by the State of NY to start collected sales tax for the state for gasoline, cigarettes, etc.. Last year, NY made it illegal for large postal carriers like UPS and Fedex to deliver cigarettes from a tax-free Indian reservation to a non-Indian NY State citizen (ironically, only the United States Postal Service will still deliver those).
I think the Indians are simply getting tired of the government trying to milk them for as much as they can ... much the same way this country does to its OWN citizens
