I just recently subscribed to the easy element filter & have noticed especially on the Toronto Star web site (http://www.thestar.com) that the page loads are slowed
considerably to the point where fx hangs for about 5 seconds & then loads.
Am I the only one experiencing this?

It slows it down a slight bit (shouldn't be much noticeable). It should get better after a couple of visits to your regular sites. As far as I know, adding a new set of filters needs to redraw your cache of previously visited sites.
Go around you normal sites for a bit and then go back later ... it should improve.
