keep only 1 adblocker, disable all others craps (antivirus plugin, ghostery, disconnect, adguard ... )

It goes back and forth. Some articles let me in, others stop me. F*** Forbes. Hope they go out of business.

If you're willing to install a whole extension then just use uBlock Origin. Just wait a couple of seconds and Forbes redirects you through.

Okay I've cleaned up the off-topic BS. The next person to bring it up again lands on a watch list.

Works great, thank you - if you have NoScript installed you need to allow forbes and forbesimg though

However if you allow scripts they try to shove a LOT of tracker ad cookies on your PC, so before you allow anything first go to Firefox options -> Privacy tab -> change "Keep until" to "ask me every time" (currently Firefox has a bug where it will ask you multiple times for the same site when they spam you with cookies but if you get a mouse clicker for the popups it's not so bad, and when you see the domain names owned by these people, it's kind of educational anyway to learn a lot about what the tracker/spyware sites are and find out who runs them)

With sites such as Forbes, turning ABP on alone no longer works. Disabling it for the site works, and gives obnoxious ads. Disabling it, letting the page load, enabling it, and reloading the page gives me the page with no ads. Presumably Forbes did its checking and is fine with things at that point. It would seem that there should be a way to automate this. Any ideas?

Disable it only on the page where it checks for adblocking instead of the complete Forbes domain.

I get a Microsoft surface ad in the middle of this page. It appears in the middle of the text as I scroll down. Is there a way to block it?

I see no surface ads, just use the tools for any adblocker to hide / block it (EHH in ABP firefox, "block element" in ABP for chrome, right click / picker for ubo)

If you maintain your own list (uploaded on some free server like dropbox for example), you'll have the same filters on all your devices.
