Ads have been unblocked on youtube (in thr UK)
Ads look slightly different in that there is no yellow bar at the bottom.

Having the same problem in the US. No progress bar, and skip ad option is no longer available. It seems YouTube has found a way around AdBlock...
I'm having the same issue in the U.S. as well. No skip ad, no progress bar.

Same here. No way to skip adds too. Seems like sometimes it blocks YouTube adds and sometimes it doesn't, strange.

Their always blocked for me, what AdBlock are you using? And what type of ad is it?

Same thing here, it happens on roughly 1/5 of youtube videos. Tried with chrome, safari and firefox on mac, chrome and firefox on pc, same thing each time.

Same here in Belgium don't seem to be having a problem in firefox though
uninstall chrome, delete the remaining profile folders, reinstall chrome, reinstall your adblocker

I've been unable to repro but loads of people have been reporting the YouTube pre-rolls on AdBlock's social media and support site. I've sent a lot over to you as it doesn't seem to be our bug but it's probably caused by a Google experiment.
I usually post here on behalf of AdBlock (not ABP), when users come to us first and we have some reason to get involved with the discussion. (http://support.getadblock.com)
no experiment, probably only some cookie issue or cache issue. After reinstalling (and first deleting the profile folders) no ads anymore. At least using adblock plus.

That's sort of what I meant - Google use cookies for experiments when they're A/B testing, and recently they've been doing some changes to the HTML5 player which brought the ads back, so perhaps they are related?

Tried to reproduce it but didn't get any ads.
If anyone can reproduce it in Firefox, it would be great if you could submit an issue report in Adblock Plus and post the link of the report here.

It's not ABP or Firefox, but examples of when people have reported the ads to us first on AdBlock and Chrome rather than to you guys are at these pages:
http://support.getadblock.com/discussio ... outube-ads
http://support.getadblock.com/discussio ... outube-ads
http://support.getadblock.com/discussio ... -correctly
The debug info on those have last-updated dates for the lists, so perhaps you could test with that particular version in case that's the problem?

see here a thread on adblock plus forum:

The ads are not reproducible on firefox + ABP for the same user.
Then, tried on chrome portable + ABP ==> no ads.
Uninstall chrome, delete remaining profile folders, install chrome + ABP ==> no ads anymore.

Well, the ads showed up for me, so I popped open chrome devtools and took a look at the requests.
First request is to something like:
this returns a JSON object with info about the video, (which is the ad it wants to show). I'm currently not sure how it gets the video-id of the ad.
Second request is to something like:
This request can easily be blocked with the rule:
Not sure if this has any side effects so far. I would improve the rule but i suck at making these things
First request is to something like:
Code: Select all
https://www.googleapis.com/youtube/v3/videos?id=TTzIoFLifKY&part=snippet%2Cstatus&fields=items%2Fid%2Citems%2Fsnippet%2Ftitle%2Citems%2Fsnippet%2FchannelId%2Citems%2Fstatus%2FprivacyStatus&key=AIzaSyA-dlBUjVQeuc4a6ZN4RkNUYDFddrVLxrA
Second request is to something like:
Code: Select all

Code: Select all

I used that elimination code, and it worked for me in Adblock Plus. I was using chrome, from Australia. As a side-note, I tried the same videos with Firefox, and they were already blocked.
The original "Adblock" version of the program doesn't seem to work on these at all. Either someone should find out how to block these ads with that, or upgrade to ABP (and add ^ that guy's elim' code), it seems.
