Now that we have a hit counter in adblock plus, what is giving you guys
the most hits?
I have added the filter: "*starwave" & have 559 hits so far & I only installed the new abp 0.7 around 6 hours ago.
Hit counter in adblock plus
@jr!
Wow! Now THAT'S a count! I don't even have that one .... but it might be getting intercepted by another string.
My biggest 2 hits are:
*/adlog.*
*ad*.googlesyndication* (of course)
both around 3500.
I guess it depends where you go. If you visit the same sites a lot, of course you will have their ads as your biggest hits.
How's the new ADP program working? ... any problems.

Mines */adframe* (2500 hits) with 4x the hits of the next highest.
Maybe we should list our most visited links too?
One thing that might make a difference, is I use NoScript which makes googlesyndication and others like it, useless for the most part. Because I don't allow javascript on sites. I have less then 10 sites I allow it on.

See, now my */adframe* is only 24 hits. I've mostly been in a lot of different forums since I started hit counting, so I'm sure that most of them have come from there.IceDogg wrote:Mines */adframe* (2500 hits) with 4x the hits of the next highest.
You really need someone who likes to travel around the web a lot and doesn't really tie themselves down to a couple of sites. Your default home page would probably give you the most hits anyway (if it has ads on it).
The hit counts would have been great for that one week I spent, a few months ago, going around to every "free stuff" site looking for ads.

Yea those free sites have the ads.. it's funny sometimes. I don't go to many of those. My main sites is about Firefox (forums) and tech news. Others are much more rare. I don't even do my google mail in Firefox.. I have it setup in Thunderbird.
homepage http://www.google.com
News:
Digg.com,cnet, slashdot, broadband reports,osnews,hotfix,yahoo,realtech, fark.. and more like those.
Then the forums. about 12 forums total (7 Firefox related)
Hmm.. looking at the sites and thinking about it.. I'm not as heavy a traveler as I had thought I was.

@pond hopper
see, there's another one .... my *_ads/* =only 6. And yet you have a bunch!
@IceDogg
After you listed your sites, I know why my */adlog.* hits a lot .... CNet/ZDNet uses them like 7 to a page. You must hit pretty good on them.

Yea your right on that. cnet has tons of ads. Glad I don't see any of them..or I wouldn't visit them anymore. The one I listed above with all the hits.. is mainly a forum I visit. I'm there a lot, it's a big forum. Doesn't get many hits on any other sites though.rick752 wrote:@IceDogg

OK, jr! Thanx for the update.jr! wrote: you can probably get rid of the *rnm.ca filter.
I don't believe the web site that used to use them (sportsnet.ca) uses
them for ads anymore after introducing their new web site.
I haven't had any hits on that filter & I'm at that web site all the time.

The last one is not in your easylist. I believe you could pick some of it.

I just got done looking at this on the Adblock Plus forum. I'm very happy how well the EasyList did considering ecjs is from France and probably incorporates sites that would be a little more relevant to French sites, the French language and French interests.Anonymous wrote:A short test :

It's your test, ecjs, what do you think?
