clickmagick.com

Post by clickmagick »

ClickMagick is an ad tracking and marketing attribution solution.

You have correctly listed our tracking domain clkmg.com in EasyList, but you have also listed our main domain clickmagick.com.

Our main domain clickmagick.com has nothing to do with tracking, and the block only makes it impossible for both prospective customers and existing users to use our public website and our application.

Is there any way we can get the domain clickmagick.com removed from the list since you already have the tracking domain listed? Thanks.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean? clkmg.com is our tracking domain where our customers load our tracking scripts from. In some cases it is also used as a redirect domain where we process our user's clicks and redirect the visitor to another URL, just like bitly for example.

ClickMagick is an ad tracking and marketing attribution solution.

You have correctly listed our tracking domain clkmg.com in EasyList. This is the domain used by our customers to help with their ad tracking, and it should be listed in EasyList.

However, you have also listed our website domain clickmagick.com in EasyList. This domain only serves our website, and has nothing to do with the tracking service we provide, so it should NOT be listed in EasyList.

Blocking clickmagick.com only makes it impossible for both prospective customers and existing users to use our public website and our application.

Is there any way we can get the domain clickmagick.com removed from the list since you already have already blocked the correct domain clkmg.com?

No it won't be removed, it will remain in the list.

Thanks.

Can you elaborate? This is a false positive.

Blocking clickmagick.com is like blocking google.com.

You should only block our tracking domain/script the same way you only block the Google Analytics tracking script.

The stated purpose of EasyList is as follows:

“ EasyList is the primary filter list that removes most adverts from international webpages, including unwanted frames, images and objects.”

clickmagick.com has absolutely nothing to do with adverts, unwanted frames, images and objects.

Does EasyList now arbitrarily block any website the admins don’t like? That is a very slippery slope don’t you think?

Blocking clickmagick.com is like blocking google.com.

Google is a search engine first and ad company second. Come back when that becomes your business model.

Stop serving advertisements and problem solved. Seeing as this is the entire purpose of this website I don't see that changing any time soon.

FWIW I'm just another user of the list: rules#authors

Blocking clickmagick.com is like blocking google.com.

Had a good laugh with this comparison
