PHPBB 3.2.x Upgrade

Post by LanikSJ Verified »

Most of you are going to notice some things aren't working:
  • Clickable Rows are Broken
  • Logo in Prosilver Theme is gone
  • Prosilver SE and SE Square Left have been removed (incompatible)
  • Auto Groups and Board Rules extensions break Notifications Options
  • FAQ Manager extension is broken (though the data is still there)
  • Multi Line code tags have spaces between the lines (old posts nothing since the upgrade)
  • Quick Login extension isn't working
  • Parse URLs are on again
I'm going to address these one by one as time permits. Unless themes get updated I'm not going to replace them.

I'll keep adding to this list as I see more things that aren't working.

Just a small remark. No one uses the mod which set topics to solved/unsolved (can disabled/removed http://i.imgur.com/qVWP8tZ.png)

Personally I prefer using Topic icons

No symbol: Issue not yet reviewed or discussion off topic not related to a filter.
Image : Indicates that the problem is under review.
Image : Indicates that a question or issue has been resolved.
Image : Indicates that the problem is left unresolved (or request rejected).
Image : A topic with a tip that might be helpful.

Thanks for the update.

Pity about the theme, is there any alternative darker phpbb 3.2 themes available?

I know I'm bummed. :( I don't see any themes that support 3.2.x yet. Let's hope we get some.

Weird, I don't understand:

- chrome, incognito window it's working fine
- firefox it's ok
- chrome, normal window, cleared all the storage it's completely messed up (logged on / off the same behaviour):

LE: I cleared up the cache ==> finally it's ok ...

I used to get an overlay to login when viewing an article, not it redirects me to the login page when I click Login. Is this not supported in the new update?

@intense Clear your browser cache. I had that problem too.

@gotitbro It's an extension doing the login overlay. I'll see if I can fix it. We might just have to wait for an update.

I got the Prosilver SE update so that's working again.

I fixed this one by moving everything to the Rules.

Could you please change the AdwCleaner download link to https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdown ... dwcleaner/ (official website).

Thank you for all updates.

Lanik, you know that the forum rules still needs a translation... and if the user changes the default language to non engilsh it gets a blank page.

It's possible to display the rules in English if the translation is missed?

Yes Rules are available in many languages I just don't know most of them. The ones I do know I have no ability to write in. English only keyboard. :-?

I have to copy them or write them individually for each language. So let's start with ones most frequently used and go from there.

All the multiline text wrapped in [ code ] notation have a break line.

before the upgrade http://i.imgur.com/WNRVkzC.png
after the upgrade http://i.imgur.com/GaplFDj.png

Do you know why?

Yes I saw that too but I'm not sure why that happens. If you edit your post and remove the code tags and submit and edit again and put the code tags back it works right again. I just don't have the time to fix it all. Must be a bug of some sort.

I localized the French rules though in English. Can you please check to make sure they look okay at least?

Just edit and add anythink (space fo example) then submit will remove the break line http://i.imgur.com/IgNk1Ac.gifv

Look okay :)

... maybe do the same for other languages ?

Thank you.

It took quite a bit of time since I either have to copy and paste them all one by one or mass import into the DB and cleanup. I choose the later rather than the former method. Still took some time to sort it all out, so unless requested I'm not going to do the rest of the locales.

I am subscribed to viewtopic.php?f=9&t=35422, but I didn't receive any email notification of Lanik's post - viewtopic.php?p=113194#p113194

I checked my spam folder, nothing there.

I have the 'Someone replies to a topic to which you are subscribed' notification set to email me, but not use the "notification" notifications.

And again - viewtopic.php?f=64&t=35532
No email notification of smed79's reply - viewtopic.php?p=113533#p113533

How many more such incidents is it useful for me to report?

(Other sites' email notifications are getting through to me at the same email address I use here.)

Thanks Lanik.

In the mean time, I'll try enabling the "notification" notifications, in case it makes any difference.
