Tagline Change of the forums

Post by gotitbro »

I recently noticed that the tagline for the forum has been changed from
The Easy Subscriptions for Adblock Plus
to
The Easy Subscriptions for Adblock, Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin
This change seems to have been enacted sometime in May http://archive.is/vYauj

I want to ask why was this change enacted. EasyList still only adheres to filters supported by Adblock Plus and the previous tagline seems more appropriate. Please clear my apprehensions about this new change.

Thank You

The lists can be used in all those adblockers.

Not to mention uBO uses EasyList by default.

It also helps with Google and other search bots which will index the forum tag and make it available for users to search something like "filters for ublock origin" and the like.

That's interesting, thanks for the explanations. But I still feel the old tagline was better .

Lanik himself uses *coughs* uBlock Origin *coughs*

In addition to that the old tagline gave the wrong vibe that the forum serves ABP users only, so the new tagline is a correction of that.

I think the appropriate links should also be given for reporting issues specific to extensions like uBlock Origin (https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues) in the rules.

There's nothing that I can think off in the rules that deal with ABP only not counting AA as that's an ABP only feature. Everything else has directions for AdBlock, ABP and uBO. Unless you're seeing something I'm not I think we're pretty well covered.

I do see some uBO specific issues being told to be reissued to https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues.

uBO Devs maintain their own filter lists. So it depends which list needs to be modified. If it's one that uBO maintains then yes that's the right location to be asking.
