Forum refuses login to member as a BOT

Post by ittiandro » Mon Nov 07, 2016 2:00 am

A U.S. Forum I have so far been able to login without problems ( HSM Maui Windsurfing Forum) now refuses login saying that they think I am a " BOT"(!?!?). ( This is their message)
I don't have the slightest idea of what BOT means . While searching the meaning of BOT in the Internet, somebody has hinted that it can be a way to silence undesired people off the Forum, but I see no reason this should happen to me: my posts are very few and I am always polite, I never broke any rules and I have never been called to order by the moderators. It is a real mystery.
Can you explain what can the term BOT possibly mean?

Thanks

Ittiandro

A bot is only one of the names used for this type of crawler. Another is a web crawler: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_crawler

I would report that behavior of to the webmaster of "HSM Maui Windsurfing Forum".
"If it ain't broke don't fix it."
