What was the fix? I'm trying to learn the filters a little better.

It was an element hide (cnn is being a little sneaky).

They enclosed that ENTIRE page in an element called:

Code: Select all

sportsillustrated.cnn.com#div(class=cnnHeaderAd)
... which used to block just the top banner ad on their Sports Illustrated site but now encompasses that whole page ... (a-holes!) .

When will companies learn that it is waaaaay easier for me to adjust a single string than for them to adjust their whole site ... let it go, guys! :?

@ Speed ....

The fix was that I removed that filter because it isn't used by those guys anymore (as far as I can see).

This probably isn't a good way to find out about filters. You walked into a little countering 'skirmish' between the "no ads"and the "ads" people (good vs evil?)
