I've examined the Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese Yahoo sites today, and I find it interesting that they all have different ad systems.

Really? AFAIK Hong Kong, Taiwan and China Yahoo is cleaned by EasyList. A few ads are missing in some specific subsites or partner sites, but the few yimg rules rocks. =)

But Japan does look special. While I can access Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China Yahoo through kr.yahoo.com, hk.yahoo.com, tw.yahoo.com or cn.yahoo.com, I can't get to japan through jr.yahoo.com - only http://www.yahoo.co.jr is valid.
