Hello. I've been having problems with images not showing when using the ABP add-on with Firefox. I posted to ABP and they pointed to Easy List.
Comment from ABP:
The request to
Code: Select all
http://www.skidmore.edu/news/2017/images/december/1205_jacobs-tang_jacobses_300x250.jpg
is being blocked by an
EasyList filter
_300x250.
.
Please report the problem to them.

My original post:
https://issues.adblockplus.org/ticket/6168
Certain images do not appear when Adblock is enabled, including the following:
http://www.skidmore.edu/~pdwyer/temp/test20171206.htm
Note that there is no ALT perameter or anything else in the IMG tag that might flag it as inappropriate, spam, etc.
Screenshot here: http://www.skidmore.edu/~pdwyer/temp/images/nope.gif
(Interestingly, the image appears when I plug its URL directly into Firefox:
http://www.skidmore.edu/news/2017/images/december/1205_jacobs-tang_jacobses_300x250.jpg
)
When I disable ABP, the image appears normally on the page linked above.
Most images do appear, and I can't find any commonality among those that don't.
Windows 10 Enterprise
Firefox v. 52.0.2
Adblock Plus v. 3.0.1
Thank you.

just add this exception:
if it's your site rename all the images with
_300x250
part in them

Thanks but that doesn't really help. We publish images all the time, never the same one twice. I need to know why EasyList is flagging them in order to fix the problem ... if it can be fixed.

I told you what to do. The reason is the filter
_300x250.
in easylist:
https://easylist.to/easylist/easylist.txt
So, you should check with easylist filters if you want to include the size in your photo name and avoid
ads
,
banner
...as part of your photo name.

Good lord. I can't put common file sizes in filenames? Guess I'll have to size images to 301 pixels, etc. Sheesh.
Thanks for the info, but what a drag.
