Chrome Bug - http://rightwingnews.com/

Post by snowwhite55 »

This is really annoying, so the page pretty much loads, and as its like 99% loaded it then hangs and freezes, before crashing.

This only seems to happen in Chrome and when reading a article on http://rightwingnews.com/ as for example try...

Loads fine for me. Chrome 48. No crash. However I see ads which look like Yavli ads while EasyList is updated.

Still getting this issue on my work Mac. Same for everyone else i tried it on in the office.

Am also on Chrome version 48, but on an iMac is that can make a difference?

Also have you guys updated your plugin to the latest version?

What do you mean by that? I'm very positive we're all running the latest version of ABP.
I'm on Windows and have no problems. I don't have any Macs at hand so someone who has might want to test it. If it is in fact an issue with Adblock Plus itself then this is the wrong forum anyway.
Follow https://adblockplus.org/bugs#reporting.
What if you disable/remove Adblock Plus in the extension manager or use a Chrome profile without it? Does the issue still occur? If no then follow the link I gave you. If yes then something else is wrong (maybe with Chrome's Mac version).

@snowwhite, try adding these filters:

Code: Select all

Intense,

Yes adding @@||rightwingnews.com^$generichide fixed the issue. Please merge the rule.

Wouldn't it be better to report it on the ABP forums so the bug can be fixed? Seems like the better option than to remove element hiding on all websites where this bug occurs (if this even is the solution that always works as a workaround and if this is the only way the bug causes problems) and thereby limiting all users for the good of the few that use ABP on Chrome on a Mac (if this is even a bug that occurs for everyone with that setup).

no. It's a filter issue.
