Recently uproxx.com has started displaying really obnoxious ads using JavaScript which embeds the ads in the page as <span>s with randomly generated IDs and classes. After some investigating it looks like the culprit is a script served from
https://adserver.xpanama.net/client-7-latest.js Blocking adserver.xpanama.net (or adserver.xpanama.net$script) gets rid of the ads.

For some reason there's a very broad exception for this server currently in EasyList:

Code: Select all

@@||xpanama.net^$xmlhttprequest
Browsing the forums, it looks like this might have been put in to handle a very specific use case (#p119263), but this is much too broad an exception compared to the fix that is needed for this.

I suggest blocking adserver.xpanama.net and then carving out a more targeted exception if necessary.
