At first thanks to created that great application, we can surf easily and it helps people. I had some problem with that website, i did not check but it's probably same for all the gamepedia subdomain. There is an advertisement boxes at the upper right side of the screen and when i try to hide them, they are appearing after refreshed website. They probably invented something new because it is surpassing the ad-block application.

So it was working fine, but now the damn website is fighting adblockers. And winning.

Adblock used to hide the visual part of the ad, but not the container, which was fine by me.

Now, I rightclick the 'block an ad on this page' thing, hit the ad, and set the container to something obvious, as in the name of it was "googleadservice" or something, and I block it. It reloads the page, and the page renders everything without the ad, but it keeps loading (the spinny icon thing is still going), and finally the ad pops up and the page stops loading. And I have done this numerous times, more than 10, and it just keeps evading it. And if the filter evasion wasn't enough, there was the "buy curseforge premium, for an ad-free experience now!". Also, this is new, it had one of those scrolling ads, that when you scroll it stays in the same position on the page, but it is kind of off-center, presumably from my filters. And, the number of blocked ads on the Adblock button keeps getting higher every time i create filters. I'm getting the impression that it blocks one ad, and somehow the page knows it, and loads up another ad with a tiny change but that evades the filters. I have tried doing very specific filters and filter for the whole container to no avail.

EDIT:

Another email from another support person said that adblock works for it on firefox and edge.

@lightningtow did you try to disable "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" in AdBlock's options, GENERAL tab ?

A quick update: AdBlock for Chrome 3.8.8 and later are blocking these ads without the need for custom filters. (At least for now. Let the arms race begin again!)
