I saw this has been posted in the ABP forum thread in December already but still hasn't been added. The message is just there to force people to login/register.

I tried smed79's most recent rule, but I still see "log in overlays" on Facebook pages, such as https://www.facebook.com/tesco. Any way to hide them with rules? Thanks.
I cannot reproduce, copy/past the html code source of the page to http://pastebin.com/ and post the link here.
I had another look today, but did not see the large overlay (even with adblocking switched off). It seems that Facebook may be split testing different approaches to see what works best.smed79 wrote:I cannot reproduce, copy/past the html code source of the page to http://pastebin.com/ and post the link here.

Hi, of all the filters posted here and here: https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic ... book login, onlyare generating hits for me, so I guess the others are obsolete, by now.
Aditionally, for facebook.com###dialog_0, see here: https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=45133
Code: Select all
facebook.com##.timelineLoggedOutSignUp

Is it reproducible if you're using the Annoyances list?

Facebook keeps showing uncloseable popovers asking you for login in when browsing without an account.
This should solve it:

When on a Facebook page or post, when not logged in, I keep getting this annoying popup that takes up a 1/2 of the page, then when you click "Not Now" to try an close it, it stays open and covers 1/3 of the page. I've tried using the adblock right click option, but it seems to be unique per page/post.

And when you scroll down to see more content, the pop-up takes the entire screen.
This is ridiculous and super annoying.

@666 Already fixed by Fanboy's Annoyances list.

@smed79 @fanboy could you please add it to the easylist? My adblocker doesn't have the option to add different lists besides easylist, thanks
No not sure,
EasyList is filter list that removes adverts from webpages and Annoyance list blocks social media content and other annoyances.
what adblocker are you using?

It's supposed to be separate lists so that people can customize their ad blockers as they please. Some people only care about blocking ads and don't want a lot of extra filter rules for annoyances - which would take up extra CPU - merged into EasyList. Or some people might want to use social icons, which Fanboy's Annoyance List blocks.666 wrote:could you please add it to the easylist? Main point, you're using a shitty ad blocker and should switch to something better like ubo: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock#installation
No offence, but don't expect everyone else to adapt to you using inferior ad blocking software.
I use Safari, and use the excellent, Content Blocker Wipr.

Adblock Plus for iOS is for free https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/adblock ... 71868?mt=8 & sure better than Wipr ... $1.99

There's an unmaintaned fork of uBlock Origin called uBlock that is available for Safari, among other browsers: https://www.ublock.org/
I'm on OS X, and I'll never change my adblocker but anyway.
