:D

Actually zipped up I level out at 20 mb for all 3 folders.

I have been using large amounts of extensions since Firebird 0.6 and pretty much know what works well on my machine. I did have 100 at one time but new extensions have come along that are dual function so I lost the extra weight from that.

I get a kick out of users that claim Fx is slower with more extensions and is a memory pig. I just have not seen that. Yes Fx in the past had memory issues but the newer builds have been chipping away at that issue as are better themes and extensions.

Keep in mind Rick that Fx is made to be played with so the more extensions the merrier.

Y'know ... I hadn't even checked that in a while. I set the browser.cache.memory.capacity in the config file a while back and forgot about it. I just checked my usage ..... 29meg w 5 tabs open and all of my extensions enabled. That's not bad. I remember when it used to go up to 70/80 meg.

I checked to see what I had the limit set at and the browser.cache.memory.capacity entry is gone! Did 1.5 remove that setting .... maybe I took it out myself? :?

..getting old ...can't .... rememb ....Zzzzzz!

If you made a new Profile and did not transfer your user.js when you updated that is most likely when the settings were lost.

I am using the same Chrome and user.js since 0.7 along with cookies, passwords, and bookmarks.

I have been using the same profile since 0.7 also.

I may have manually removed the 'memory' setting when I upped my memory to 1 gig .... and figured it wasn't that bad.

Or maybe I was using one of the 1.5RC's and it really WASN'T that bad and I left it. Too many different machines. I can't remember

Call me old fashioned, but I use Qute 3 (Schrade port). I did use Noia Extreme (2?) at one time, but it's a bit heavy on the memory usage, and my machines are OLD. (One machine - let's call it A - has a 733MHz P3 processor with a 128mb[sic] stick of SDRAM. B has a 2GHz *ugh* Northwood CELERON! with 258mb[not kidding here either] of memory, DDR).
I'm really trying to resist my urges to install the entire addons directory, and so far I've managed a nice 14 on machine B (it's a fairly fresh reinstall, so time with undoubtedly take its toll on my control) and 30 or so on A (I haven't had a fresh install in a while on this machine, see what I mean by time taking its toll?).

Anyways, the 14 extensions:
ABP
AIOS
ChromEdit (hacked)
DOM Inspector
Gmail Manager
Linkification
MyStickies (pretty cool, but haven't had any use for it yet)
ScrapBook
SiteAdvisor
SpellBound Dev
TMP
Talkback
Update Channel Selector
Web Dev

That reminds me, I haven't installed IE View Lite (the smaller version made by Grayson Mixon (or was it Nixon?)) yet.......must......resist......urge.....to.....go........to.....AMO.....failing.... I'll be back.

EDIT: I forgot about stylish too!

Wow, some people use way too many extensions. Even if it doesn't slow firefox down, you'd think all the clutter would be enough to put anyone off from doing that. Anyway, aside from Talkback and the DOM Inspector, all I use are..
Adblock Plus
BugMeNot
Sage
Gmail Manager
Greasemonkey
Feedview
undoclosetab
One of the Tango themes

I like minimalism
