firebug 1.0b2 released (current is .4)

Post by aslezak »

the new firebug has hit 1.0 beta 2. I installed it last night and it's pretty darn sweet! I'm sure it will help us element hunters/webdev's become more successful testers & troubleshooters.

If you're interested, then check it out.

Thankfully, Joe Hewitt is keeping the extension open-source.
What, me worry?

I just found something pretty sweet - you can right click anything, and press "inspect element". It will bring up the highlighted text within firebug for quicker "debugging".

Wow, now that is really nice. This one is a BIG upgrade to the other version. The author has done a superb job with this one. I also like the way it masks the inspected area rather than just outlining it with the blue line (which could get difficult to find at times) :D

Only bad thing I see so far is it's throwing up errors like crazy in the Trunk builds. I mean even about: blank is an error. At least for me it is. I removed it from the Trunk build.

I personally find LiveHTTPHeader invaluable. JSView is not primary a development tools but it also helps. I also used LoremIpsum generator and user agent switcher.

If I don't have FireBug installed I would have a few more.
