Adblock Plus 0.7.1.2 reaches #8 on AM0!

Post by rick752 »

It seems like Adblock Plus 0.7.1.2 has broken into the "Top 10 Most Popular Downloads" for Mozilla/Firefox

... after never being there before, Adblock Plus has found it's way into the 'Top Downloads' list from the 100's of extensions for Firefox and is closing in on a 'faltering' Adblock 0.5 which has also fallen OFF of the 'Top 5" chart on the main Mozilla Add-ons page (AMO).

Now that the "Adblock Plus" version is as visible as the regular Adblock, we'll see what the coming weeks bring.

Stats from AMO for the last 7 days:

Adblock 0.5.3.043 (original): 100322 downloads (#6 top extension)
Adblock Plus 0.7.1.2: 62454 downloads (#8 top extension)

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/

...and with Wladimir again on another set of breakthroughs ... who know where it will go. Read:

Congratulations Wladimir .. you GO, baby! :D

Well deserved for WP. He's done a great job so far, I can't wait to see what's down the road.

Well ... today was a disappointment AND a cause to celebrate.

Both Adblock AND Adblock Plus had sizeable increases in downloads for the last 7 days. Unfortunately, the increase moved Adblock back into the 'top 5' that is shown on the AMO homepage.

The upside is that ADP maintained its #8 ranking and increased its downloads from 62,000 (last week) to almost 75,000 for the last 7 days on AMO. Quite a big percentage gain :D

Seems like everyone just wants to block ads ... and there's nothing wrong with that!

It does speak volumes that 2 of the top 10 extensions are for blocking ads.
