FilterLists - Resource I built that some may find useful.

Post by cbearsizzle »

I wanted a one-stop list of all known filter lists for use in adblockers, but I couldn't find one that was truly exhaustive. So I attempted to build one. If it's useful to anyone, great. If you spot any fixes that should be made, let me know!

Hi and welcome to EasyList Forum!

btw, i would note that Arabic/French list block only advertisements, trackers are left to EasyPrivacy.

Keep up the great work ;-)

Perfect, thanks for the feedback. Will fix. Do you know if this is the case with most of the EasyList language lists?

I think yes but you should contact lists authors to be sure (refer to head lists to get contact info).

Nice resource 8)

One comment though. The Acceptable Ads list (which you call "EasyList Exceptions") is not a part of nor affiliated with the Easy project. It is maintained by Eyeo GmbH (the company behind ABP) and I don't think it requires EasyList.
Also, its forum is not on this board, that is at https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=12 and https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=17

To avoid confusion rename to Adblock Plus acceptable ads or Adblock Plus Non-intrusive advertising or Adblock Plus Exceptions.
seek assistance on https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=9

Nice site.
Are Joxean’s filterlists useable in ad blockers? It just seems like a list of URLs without any ||@@ or ##a[href^=""] code.

Thanks.

Joxean's lists haven't been updated in over a year, thus their gray/stale status. However, I just tried adding one to uBlock Origin and it seems to allow me to apply the list. I'm not sure if it works with ABP, though.

Would be nice if it'd show when the list was last updated, to avoid users installing non-supported older lists

Thanks, @fanboy, I completely agree. That will be one of the first feature updates if I have time.

Wiltteri’s Finnish and Wiltteri’s Finnish Reborn haven't been updated since May 16th, 2015 (9.5 months ago) and it doesn't look like they are maintained anymore.

Hubird is only maintaining those lists for personal use, and he is not interested in any feedback of any sort. I had modified one of the scripts in his repo for my personal use and decided why not offer it to him, but his response just say that he's not active in this stuff anymore. See e.g. https://github.com/Hubird-au/Adversity/ ... -147926764

I think it might be best not to list those subscriptions, or at least mark them as unmaintained, because some people aren't going to understand this concept.

Thanks, @anonsubmitter and @barbaz for your suggestions. Sorry for the delay, I didn't get notified for some reason. I will implement those suggestions on FilterLists soon.
