EasyPrivacy redundant rules

Post by WarFame »

I checked EasyPrivacy with https://arestwo.org/famlam/redundantRuleChecker.html and was astound to see that there were redundant rules.

https://gist.github.com/5066afc1fa12124310a0

It also found a mistake:

Code: Select all

The following error, warning or optimalization was encountered while checking the rules:

||googletagmanager.com/gtm.js?$third-party$domain=gamestar.de : Probably '$' was used instead of ',' to separate options

Are you sure those are all redundancies, that some of those "redundant" filters aren't needed to block stuff on pages whitelisted with $genericblock?

I just realized that seems to be true for some. It even says so in the list:

Code: Select all

! Specific blocking filters necessary for sites whitelisted with $genericblock filter option

Did the same thing with EasyList.

Didn't do it at first because Chrome couldn't handle it. Firefox did it without problems.
