easy list subscription doesnt work at all. I have installed several linux distros recently (Ubuntu 13.10, Open Suse, Manjaro). Installed adblock plus (Firefox). No adds were blocked. I was desperate. Only later I noticed Easylist download failures.

I have encountered the same issue. Being an old follower I went to update the list immediately but none of the filters even beginned to download. Failing again and again. Since you are already aware of the malfunction I will give you the important information of system, and browser build. In the meantime I have manually added fanboys mirror links which do seem to work. Thanks
It's the Firefox 27.0.1 for Ubuntu canonical 1.0 In Ubuntu 13.10 64bit

I've got the same problem here, OS is newly installed Arch x86_64 and the browser is Firefox 27.0.1. Will check later what the situation is on my Windows computer when I get to it.
If you try this,
Does the list download fine?
Code: Select all
wget https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easyprivacy.txt

Sorry to jump in.
Same issues here. Iceweasel 24.4 on Debian Wheezy (Crunchbang Waldorf) freshly updated.
The wget above returns:

RIght, so does this resolve to any ips?
If not, try using a different dns server (such as 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) http://www.rackspace.com/knowledge_cent ... s-on-linux

Thank you!
Changing DNS details fixed it!

Sorry, but although adding Google NS's has "fixed" my Firefox, I do see it as a solution. I would like Firefox to just work. If we do not report it to Firefox bugzilla, developers will never fix it. I blame Firefox because all those addresses worked in Chromium/Chrome, so it is something browser related. This is my bugreport with all information I could think about - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=988819
Maybe you also want to complete the report, so they will see I am not the only crazy guy with this problem and fix it sooner than later. Thanks.
