wral.com - traffic map not displayed

http://www.wral.com/traffic/

The traffic map is no longer displayed. The filter

Code: Select all

/traffic/?
is blocking it. This is a recent change; it worked until just 2-3 weeks ago.

Re: Weather page on www.wral.com

Filters based on dimensions are present in almost every filter subscription, and block items that are of a size used exclusively by adverts. Correction: "of a size commonly used by adverts." There is nothing that prevents any web site from displaying non-ads that just happen to be the siz...

Weather page on www.wral.com

This filter

Code: Select all

-120x90.
removes the thumbnail graphics for radar, hurricane tracker, maps & forecasts, etc. from http://www.wral.com/weather/

When I checked EasyList for this filter, I found a lot of filters that are based solely on an element's dimensions. Is that a good idea?

Fixing Windows Update in XP SP3

Bad news: Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, or one of the subsequent patches, breaks Windows Update. Not all the time, but often enough that I got burned twice. Good news: Microsoft offers free technical support for Windows Update and that support provided a solution to my problem. http://news.cnet.co...

World of Warcraft funeral raid

A group of horde decides to hold an in-game memorial for one of their mages who died irl (in real life). They made a few mistakes: holding it in a contested zone, publicly posting that they were going to do it, and asking that no one would interfere. How could we resist? Bad taste? Lack of respect? ...

Re: How to disable the awesome bar

Its not random selection, its your history + bookmarks. The first time you launch Firefox 3, the awesome bar pulls random entries from your bookmarks to populate the list. It takes a while for the bar to accumulate some history to work with. FYI that about:config entry just hides what awesome bar s...

How to disable the awesome bar

I don't care for the seemingly random selection of web sites in the awesome bar's list. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to disable this feature: 1. In the address bar, enter about:config 2. In the filter bar, enter browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped 3. Double-click on the entry, which will change it from f...

I didn't mean to sound like I thought the CPU was the problem. I just was commenting on the number of us using the same exact processor. My reply wasn't directed at yours. Some of the comments imply that having an AMD CPU puts you at risk for the endless reboot problem, and that isn't the case. I j...
