beta.speedtest.net

When visiting beta.speedtest.net to try out the new UI I was given the following message: Hello, Speedtester! It looks like you have an adblocker running on your machine that is prohibiting Speedtest from being able to work its magic. This is due to a recent change in adblocker software, which targe...

It's not ABP or Firefox, but examples of when people have reported the ads to us first on AdBlock and Chrome rather than to you guys are at these pages: http://support.getadblock.com/discussions/other/8693-new-youtube-ads http://support.getadblock.com/discussions/problems/85443-youtube-ads http://su...

Re: Does this site breach Anti-adblock policy?

It was more the fact that I saw the list and it looks like it might be a list a website has made to let a user just click a button to whitelist the site, but technically it would breach this rule though, right?

Re: Youtube ads showing (UK)

That's sort of what I meant - Google use cookies for experiments when they're A/B testing, and recently they've been doing some changes to the HTML5 player which brought the ads back, so perhaps they are related?

Re: Youtube ads showing (UK)

I've been unable to repro but loads of people have been reporting the YouTube pre-rolls on AdBlock's social media and support site. I've sent a lot over to you as it doesn't seem to be our bug but it's probably caused by a Google experiment.

Re: SSL support and CloudFlare for Lanik.us forums

After getting 301 redirected for ages to the HTTPS version of the site which always timed out for me in the UK (managed to clear the cache) I've managed to get connected with plain HTTP - I was struggling for ages but at least the HTTPS redirect is off and I'm now able to log on to the site. EDIT - ...

Does this site breach Anti-adblock policy?

The policy I am referencing is: The user must be the only one in control of the filters required for the purpose of the anti-adblock message. It must not be possible for external sources to add, modify or remove any rules remotely. (Taken from https://easylist.adblockplus.org/blog/2013/05/10/anti-ad...

Contact site for Fanboy's language lists

Recently a user of AdBlock contacted us, saying that our contact links to filter lists such as our Japanese, Korean, Swedish and Turkish lists (which currently have a link directing users to http://forums.fanboy.co.nz/forums/viewforum.php?f=7 ) are down, with a HTTP 404 Not Found error. Where should...

Re: EasyList (recommended) blocks registration

The OP initially came to us at AdBlock asking for help. Unfortunately, we can't provide a link for you as it is a private conversation but disabling EasyList fixed the problem for the OP.

Just a note: the OP originally reported this on the AdBlock support site.

You can see the discussion here: http://support.getadblock.com/discussio ... gle-groups

I am posting this to save you asking the same questions I did.

I have notified the user at http://code.google.com/p/adblockforchro ... il?id=7578 which is where it was originally reported (the user thought you had to register for these forums - not knowing that you can browse as a guest). I redirected them here. They should reply in due course.

EasyPrivacy (not EasyList) breaks 4OD / Channel 4

Channel 4 (UK)'s 4OD service doesn't play. Pre-video ads are blocked with just EasyList, but when EasyPrivacy is enabled, the videos get stuck on a loading circle. I can confirm that this happens in both AdBlock on Chrome and ABP on Firefox. See below for the original bug report for extra info, but ...

A user of AdBlock (not ABP) has reported that, in Safari, Google Images load slowly, and has tracked EasyList (the default list in AdBlock) to be the cause.
