Re: "||burnsoftware.info*/!"

What do you mean by unneeded work? I mean that since ||burnsoftware.info*/! is still needed because it still blocks all the ads, it would be a waste of your time (unneeded work) to change it to ||burnsoftware.info^ just because there's no such thing as a burnsoftware.info site. Although it wouldn't...

Re: "||burnsoftware.info*/!"

http://cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd.shtml e.g. Thank you for the example. That answers my question about why some filters use the "*/!". Since burnsoftware.info is no longer a website, why not change that one? But I suppose that's a maintenance issue, i.e. if the current filter is s...

"||burnsoftware.info*/!"

While reading the comments in EasyList, I ran across the following filter: ||burnsoftware.info*/! The trailing "!" looks like it may be a typo. Should the filter be replaced with ||burnsoftware.info^ Burnsoftware.info doesn't appear to be a website in its own right. It's just redirected to...

Using EasyList/Privacy. 1) Load http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/homepage/narrowband.jsp 2) Start up gameday by clicking on the little green baseball diamond for one of the active games in the Scoreboard panel on the left side. Result: Gameday starts to load, but doesn't proceed past a blank screen. Gameday l...

Re: JavaScript

No problem, IceDogg. Somehow the users on MozillaZine are able to sniff out spambots after they register but before they even post. Seems to be several spambots registering daily over there. It's not so bad on the NoScript forums: maybe one per day that actually registers. Good idea, Michael. I'd fo...

Re: NoScript add-on disables unlisted ad scripts before they run

I can't describe more precisely the problem or how I coped with it because it is now a thing of the past for me, especially since a few minutes ago when I became aware of the shared filter lists, subscribed and joined this forum : I can no longer find a web page with ads... Cool! I'm so glad for yo...

Re: Search broken?

Google and Yahoo searches don't find anything in the Filter Suggestions forum. Perhaps lanik has disabled search bot crawling of that particular forum on purpose. Glad to see you found your cnn.com somehow, e80.

I never would have seen the sticky if you hadn't mentioned it here. More of its intended audience will see it if it is here in the PVT forum. Or at least make this topic a sticky.

The economist has changed its blog format. The two previous filter suggestions don't seem to do anything on http://www.economist.com/blogs/charlemagne/2009/09/sometimes_america_wants_a_divi There is some new white space at the top of the blog. The following filter gets rid of it,. economist.com##DIV...

Re: online.wsj.com "TO CONTINUE READING" image

Thank you for the suggestions. I already know why the article is cutoff now, so it's not confusing for me. But it may be a bit for confusing for other EasyList users, at least until they figure out EasyList is blocking the message.

I see that the regular expression filter /getcounter.de/ is included in EasyPrivacy. Does it really need to be a slow filter? What is it supposed to block?
